Interview with Frank Rocca

Love Music: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education, passion etc. ??

I attended San Francisco State University cinema program. during the final semester I got a job at Xerox PARC in the creative services department. I Was learning so much about production post production animation and live broadcasting at PARC (Palo Alto Research Center) that one day I never went back to class at State. I think I was 5 credits short of graduating. But I was really influenced by Steve Jobs and Bill Gates dropping out so I just went with it. I think my family particularly my dad were scratching their heads.

Love Music: We heard your single Cocaina Queen so we thought we would ask you how it feels to have a song released with Sony/ Orchard?

It feels no different then before the release. It's just a process. The art is what gives me a sense of accomplishment and that was completed a few months back. The good feelings come during the creative process not after.

Love Music: Can you please tell us more about your new Single & Video “Cocaina Queen”?

Cocaina Queen is a song that was inspired by being in that lane for a period. Its complicated. But we have an English and Spanish language version. Overall I think its a good song that I can stand by creatively under the circumstances.

Love Music: Great, what motivates you to do your best work as a musician?

I have no clue. Likely the satisfaction. I have no idea what my best work is. I don't think I have done my best yet. but you never know. each time I work on a record I go into the studio knowing that this could be that one shit song.

Love Music: Nice, Any upcoming project?

The Album EP is titled Disruptive Technology. That would be the best answer for that multiple choice question.

Love Music: What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far ?

None of it is very exciting because we are just starting out. we are unknown and in a world with billions of people, very few people have heard our music or seen the art or animation that goes with it. But each day thanks to my publicist Reyna Trevino and the musicians and artist that I collaborate with the momentum is building. When at some point im looking into a sea of people looking back at me will be a good time to ask that question.

Love Music: Did you choose this industry, as a career, or as a hobby?

I've worked in the rap music part of this business for a while. I just got tiered of artist with a ton of talent not listening or following directions. There are a lot of components to this business and the ones who make it have to treat it as a 16 our a day job. So at some point I just had to do it myself so it would get done right. Its not about winning, its about consistently playing the game. If you do that then you win regardless.

Love Music: Your favorite quote?

You mean from lyrics? It would probably be from my favorite rapper. His name is C-BO. There are so many I would have trouble picking one. But if you listen to any of the early albums like The Autopsy, Tales From The Crypt, One Life To Live or Till The Casket Drop its all great quotes. I guess for now I would say a Led Zeppelin line in Over The Hills And Far Away: "Many is a word that only leaves you guessing, Guessing 'bout a thing you really ought to know".

Love Music: Awesome, Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?

Whatever Needs Doin and every now and then whoever needs it done to them,

Love Music: How can people find you and follow you online?

They can't find me online. I live in the physical world not a digital world. But they can find the music online by searching for it on apple music or tidal Spotify etc. I wouldn't suggest anyone follow me even though I know where I'm going. I'm pretty sure its a place where not too many people will want to go . . .

Show Me The Way by Pauly Dinero

"There’s nothing worse in life than a waste of talent." – Robert De Niro “A BronxTale”

When Singer, Songwriter and Producer Pauly Dinero was asked for a quote that he lives by, he immediately paraphrased a quote by Robert De Niro from the classic movie “A Bronx Tale”. Staying true to that quote Pauly refuses to waste his talent.

Hailing from Newark, Delaware, Pauly has a story of his own. He has had his share of ups and downs with family, friends and the industry. Through it all Pauly has remained consistent no matter the obstacle. He is the true definition of the term turning lemons to lemon aide.

At an early age he was forced to deal with the topic of mental health when he and his sister were removed from their mothers care due to her battle with Bipolar Schizophrenia disorder. In addition to that he was placed in the care of his father that in turn displayed abusive behavior towards him and his sister. As a result he was forced to mature fast. However, he did not let that get the best of him. As years progressed Pauly began to write about his issues, which he found therapeutic. He took his life struggles as well as its success and put pen to pad creating some of the most life changing, thought provoking and feel good music.

Known for being lyrically versatile with impeccable delivery and energy that would make any music lover an instant fan, he began to perform around the city. As time progressed he began to make a name for himself and built a solid and very supportive fan base across the tristate area. Since then he has won 5 philly song battles, performed on stages with artists such as Future, Yo Gotti, Meek Mill, Cardi B, Migos and French Montana to name a few. Additionally, he won Power House 2017 Philly with over 20k votes and has sold out multiple shows as a headliner.

He has recently inked a management deal with Kings Lifestyle Entertainment. When asked how he felt about deal he smiled charismatically and stated “There’s nowhere to go but up.”

His forth coming project yet to be titled will not only display his lyrical ability, but allow you to see how he has evolved as an artist and individual.

Interview with Gary Davis

Love Music: What does your band name mean?

We was only going to be a recording project and we wanted to work with all different musicians and for them all to get lost in our music. Maze seemed to fit what we was trying to achieve.

Love Music: What are your influences and do you bring them into your music?

My influences are from the 90’s britpop scene, bands such as ocean colour scene, oasis but also older period bands such as The Who and the kinks.

Love Music: How did you meet?

Me and Paul met about 20 years ago working for a print company in south London. After work we use to go for beers and talk music etc and 10 years later we formed the theme and when I left 3 years ago, still missed the music so decided to form maze as a recording project. Once you’ve been in the music industry it’s very hard to stay away.

Love Music: How do you write and record songs, what is the process behind this?

I usually write all the songs apart from Groundhog Day which was written by Gary Davis. My writing consists of walking around the house with a acoustic guitar and trying out chord progressions. Once a progression works the melodies come easy, then it’s a case of writing the lyrics and recording a demo on my home studio. Not all songs end up being shown to band members “only the good ones”

Love Music: What does your band sound like? For people who have yet to hear you.

Obviously we have a very 90’s sound. Because that’s the era that got us both into live music! But I’ve got so many influences that I can hear them all somewhere in my music. From Rave music to Motown/Soul

Love Music: You've gotten the attention of lots of new fans, so how does it feel?

Feels amazing, it just started out as a recording project but then getting jack, lee and Sam involved for a one of gig then recording an EP it as gone mental with the attention we have received.

Love Music: Can you please tell us more about your latest released?

We have just released from start to perfection. A 4 song EP we recorded it live at Ascape Studios, and wanted to keep that live recording sound. We knew the songs so well before recording, so we just turned up plugged in and recorded. Everyone knew their parts and it was recorded in a day. No over tracking or massive production.

Love Music: Nice, Any upcoming project?

New Single in the next couple months, followed most probably by a Another EP. We can’t wait to start our new single Far Away at Caretaker studios. This will be a massive song and the production will be massive as well. Completely different from our latest EP.
This will start with laying down acoustic guitar and the rest of the song will be added piece by piece.

Love Music: What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far ?

The new Maze EP bring released and never expecting the attention as received so far. We’ve sent copies of the ep all around the world. And the love is definitely there for us. Without that we wouldn’t be continually trying to strive to create better music. You can never let the grass grow around your feet, always keep moving and strive to achieve better with every release. And I think we are doing that.

Love Music: Your favorite quote?

he who dares wins G

All or nothing P for me you can never go into anything half heartedly. You are either in or you’re out. Step up show your passion and be counted, nothing in life falls in your lap. You have to go out and get it!

Love Music: How can people find you and follow you online?

People can find us on Facebook and Instagram, the EP from start to perfection is also iTunes and Spotify or on CD via PayPal mazemusicuk@hotmail.com
