Interview with Jamie-Lee Dimes - A Critically Acclaimed Australian Musician

Love Music recently interviewed Australian musician, singer-songwriter Jamie-Lee Dimes on her upcoming Album "Liminality" which will be released in the USA November 25th.

Check out the interview :

Love Music : Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education etc. ??

Jamie-Lee : My name is Jamie-Lee, I’m an Australian musician, singer-songwriter. I am about to release my debut mini-album ‘Liminality’ and am scheduled to go on tour throughout USA starting March 2017. I grew up pursuing performing arts, auditioning from as young as eight years old. I had piano lessons from a young age, and picked up the guitar at age 17. I have trained in Jazz, contemporary, classical, theater and Italian opera vocal styles. I went to music school in Brisbane, Australia before moving to New York in 2013 to attend dance school on Broadway.

Love Music : We been hearing a lot about you, and your music , so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?

Jamie-Lee :  It feels good to have a lot of hard work paying off. There is so much involved behind the creative process of releasing anything that most fans don’t get to see.

Love Music : At what point did you decided to become a singer ?

Jamie-Lee : I’ve been entertaining people since I could mumble words as a child ha. Officially, I think my dad got over hearing me only sing in my bedroom so he enrolled me in singing lessons at the age of 15 and I’ve been doing it ever since.

Love Music : What are you working on now and where do you feel your music is headed?

Jamie-Lee : I have a mini-album that is being released November 25th titled ‘Liminality’ which I started writing in July 2015. It captures a very dark headspace and period of ‘transition’. I would love to continue writing music for film, and have been in the studio at mission Sounds in Williamsburg writing for the next full-length album which reflects in lighter, ambient styles.

Love Music : Who are your musical inspirations?

Jamie-Lee : Cat Power, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Dirty Three, PJ Harvey, Zola Jesus, kim Gordon, Sonic Youth, Mazzi Star, Low, Stevie Nicks, Kurt Vile.

Love Music : What motivates you to do your best work as a Singer & Songwriter ?

Jamie-Lee : Being as raw and real as possible in the studio and following my gut with what it is I am wanting to express. Allowing myself to be vulnerable and to showcase myself in a different light to everyday life.

Love Music :  If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?

Jamie-Lee : Good Question, I would have to say Madison Square Garden in New York but I’ve been attending shows at The Brisbane Entertainment Center since I was a kid, so that would feel pretty special.

Love Music : What are your future plans to singing ? Your vision for the coming years.

Jamie-Lee : To continue exploring my craft and experimenting with sounds, releasing more albums and collaborating with great artists.

Love Music : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?

Jamie-Lee :  I grew up on the beaches of Australia, so my ideal day off is drinking beer or pina coladas (if you want to get fancy) on the beach with friends or traveling to new places. I am currently obsessed with Chelsea Handlers new show on Netflix, so if I need to lounge around I will usually binge watch that. I also really enjoy the freedom to drink red wine in my home whilst playing the piano and thrifting.

Love Music : How can people find you and follow you online?

Jamie-Lee : I love Instagram, you can follow me @jamieleedimesmusic or at facebook.com/jamieleedimes from November 14th

My album ‘Liminality’ will be out November 25th for record store day with pre-order for vinyl and digital starting November 14th on http://jamieleedimes.com

Interview with Famous Swiss Recording Artist Milow the Girl

Love Music recently interviewed Milow the girl (Sylvia G) who is a Swiss singer songwriter , animal lover& activist signed to US based label Realize records.

Check out the interview :

Love Music : Let’s talk a bit about your music and what is the secret behind your success ?

Milow the Girl :

My music, I think is a patchwork of the sounds, the songs I liked and listened to along the way, with a little touch of myself. My personal experience with love, with friendship, with loss, my sadness but also my moments of happiness, my questioning.

Love Music : How's your feelings when you received the award of Best European Singer at the LA Music Awards ?

Milow the Girl :

OMG It was totally unexpected I was obviously very happy. I also performed at the Whisky a Gogo in LA that night, my first gig in the US!

Love Music : At what point did you decided to become a singer ?

Milow the Girl :

I never thought I could or would sing. I have no musical background. As a kid I wanted to become a vet and save all the animals on the planet or be an astronaut. The idea of travelling into the unknown always fascinated me, I had a vivid imagination. Singing only came much later.

Love Music : Please tell us about your new CD " Dreams " and where do you feel your music is headed?

Milow the Girl :

I think that we forgot how to dream. We live on a fast track, the world has changed so much there is so little left for Dreams. Children have this wonderful ability to dream, they live in a world of fantasy without boundaries were nothing is impossible. An unlimited imagination. I guess that we lose this ability as we become adults. We all have some kind of dreams inside our hearts inside our heads, we just need to learn how to open the windows again.

Love Music : We 've been hearing a lot about you and your work from plenty people we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?

Milow the Girl :

I am very grateful. It gives me the chance to share not only my music with more people but my passion for animals and my fight against animal cruelty and I think that there is nothing better than music to do that.

Love Music : Did you choose the music industry, as a career, or as a hobby?

Milow the Girl :

The music industry is a tough world but I guess that everything is challenging when you want to be successful. It was a hobby I had at first that turned into a passion. I do not think that you can decide that music will be a career. Art and singing is something that is more abstract, it happens or it doesn’t

Love Music : Tell us about your achievements as a Famous Swiss artist ?

Milow the Girl :

Switzerland is my country where my heart is. We have so many talented Artists and a number of really great music festivals. I was lucky to perform twice at the Montreux Jazz Festival. I hope that there will be more opportunities for me to perform in the future. The label I am signed to is based in the US and the band as well so it’s sometimes a bit complicated distance wise.

Love Music :  If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?

Milow the Girl :

I would love to perform at Coachella and we are working on a full US tour.

Love Music : What are your future plans to singing ? Your vision for the coming years.

Milow the Girl :

I would like to be more involved in the fight against animal cruelty, puppy mills and against the fight of the trade of dog meat in Asia. I think that music is such a great way to convey a message. I want to raise awareness on some environmental issues that are so important for our planet, for us, the list is long.

Love Music : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?

Milow the Girl :

I practice sports. It has always been a way for me to disconnect. especially Swimming. I like yoga, running, cardio, walks in the mountains with my dogs, skiing. I also love travelling. I just came back from Myanmar (Burma) and loved it. Oh and switch of my laptop and phone!

Love Music : How can people find you and follow you online?

Interview With Project Mayuge Band Members

Love Music recently interviewed the famous & talented Project Mayuge Band Members..we talk about their new albums, previous album and upcoming albums...

Check out the interview :

http://projectmayuge.bandcamp.com/

Love Music : Tell us a little bit about Project Mayuge. And how many band members Project Mayuge consists ??

Project Mayuge has been and still is a collaboration of multiple skills. I myself (Niels) have been playing Piano since I was 5 while Sjors has been experimenting with digital music for almost an equal amount of time. As mentioned later in the interview eventually we decided to combine these skills and over the past 8 years we’ve also taken on extra help from other friends. Currently however, we are back at just Sjors and I managing everything.

Love Music : We 've been hearing a lot about Project Mayuge, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?

At first we just made music because we enjoyed it and didn’t think anything more of it. But nowadays with requests and attention it also fills our thoughts with happy moments knowing that we also make others happy.

Love Music : At what point did you decided to made this band ?

Project Mayuge started in 2008 when Sjors and I were in school and we had to do a school assignment to make music. We liked it so much that we started making remixes and songs together and then chose the name Project Mayuge.

Love Music : Please tell our readers about your new Album, where do you feel your music is headed?

Our newest album will be called Saikousei and for the first time in the history of Project Mayuge it will only contain remixes. That said there will be no change in our style which is pretty much combining as many styles as possible from calm orchestral pieces at the start of the album to hard dance tracks at the end of the album and anything in between like rock, disco and house.

Love Music : And please also tell the feed back you got about your previous album?

In general we get positive responses to our albums since we try and mix up the content. It’s not just all dance or all orchestral. Our albums speak to almost everyone out there.

Love Music : What motivates you to do your best work as band members ?

Putting smiles on our faces and the faces of our fans. Nothing makes us happier than making a fan happy. There’s no need for sky-high prices or pretentiousness. If we can keep doing our thing and make fans happy, that’s enough for us in regards to motivation.

Love Music :  If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?

Sadly we are going to stick with not playing live anywhere BUT that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t like getting places. Being invited by the (late) BittyBay staff to make their Original Sound Track was a lot of fun and made us meet people from all over the world to work with.

https://soundcloud.com/projectmayuge

Love Music : What are your future plans for your new albums ? Your vision for the coming years.

After Saikousei which will release around New Year’s Day of 2017 we will continue doing what we do best, which is work and having fun. That’s the best way to get inspiration and then we’ll start making songs and we try to release one album a year but to be honest, we’re getting older and responsibilities are coming at us full force so I would think that an album every two years is more likely from now on because we want to keep our standards and not give fans junk.

Love Music : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?

In Sjors his free time he likes to work on making digital art. That’s also his forte and he likes honing his skills even further. For me the same thing goes. In my free time I like playing the piano as it calms me down. Besides that I enjoy working in Microsoft Excel, which is work related as well but Excel is excellent to zone out in and practice things while the musical juices start flowing.

Love Music : How can people find you and follow you online?

People can follow us on Twitter (@ProjectMayuge) on FaceBook (ProjectMayuge) when the album releases, it’s unused for the time being. And people can find us on our song platforms SoundCloud and BandCamp.

Alex Kinter - A Versatile Artist

“Motion graphics these days are a huge part of post-production. The demand is high for branded cinematic content with a cohesive edge to match the rest of companies content.

These are the words of a versatile artist, Alex Kinter...

“ I’ve wanted to make films and work with the medium since I was a little kid. My attempt was really about seeing if I had a knack for it as well as to learn how lighting worked in order to one day be able to get involved with production and advertising fields.” Alex Kinter says.

“ It all started in high school during junior year whenever I had to take a photography class because the video production class was always full and couldn’t ever get in. A buddy of mine in photo class showed me this up and coming fine art and ad photographer in his twenties that had moved out to LA with basically nothing and was stirring things up by crossing over in to obscure video portraits. His name was Tyler Shields. Then I bought a film camera and a Nikon D70 digital SLR camera and started trying to figure out how light, exposure and depth of field worked by shooting various portraits of my musician friends and when they played live shows.” He adds.

Alex Kinter was born and raised in Cali, Colombia and moved to Florida with his mother at the age of 5. Alex's father was a regional manager for a chain of furniture rental stores which led the family to move to Texas because of a change in the workplace with his father. Alex had an interest for action sports and the arts from an early age. He was soon heavily engaged in graphics, computers, and web development. Since the video courses were always full, Alex took up Photography during his junior year which led to an early start to lighting and composition. Once his high school education was complete, Alex attended Texas A&M University Commerce for Art Direction & Photography (2011). Alex received his certification as Digital Imaging & Post-processing Technician from RED Digital Cinema Education (2012). After Completing his education in 2012, Alex entered the mainstream entertainment industry. He started his career in photography & cinematography and gradually moved into directing music videos, commercial production, marketing, music production and entrepreneurship.

For several years, Alex worked along side entertainment host, Paul Salfen. Alex and Paul worked on shows such as The Drew Pearson Show, Sports Plus, and Inside Entertainment; as well as notable print publications, Envy Magazine, 944 Magazine, ScoreBoard Monthly,

Once Alex gained enough commercial, advertising and industrial experience in the Dallas market, he founded Solarity Studios, an entertainment production company. Alex proceeded to receive a notable reputation as a commercial director and has worked with brands such as AT&T, Dallas Cowboys, Hublot, Pernot Ricard, Marriott Courtyard, Sonic, MTV, Viacom, and Mercedes Benz. Solarity Studios is head-quartered in Dallas and has offices in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Chicago, New York and Miami. Alex's company specializes in music videos, commercial production, corporate videos, television cinematography, aerial cinematography, motion graphics, photography, digital marketing and branded content creation.

Alex's company, Solarity Studios, has quickly been established by this young man's diverse and gifted talent. He has also ventured in the the film production realm with several partners. Alex founded Solarity Motion Pictures which recently directed and produced the short film Alone at the Pool starring Anne Beyer. Alex's ambition for the art and experience in the industry has also led him to start acting per some of his music video clients and film comrades in shorts and web-series, most recently in David Lee's music video - Bringing Hippie back.

Alex has continued to focus on original content creation and his company, Solarity Studios, recently partnered with Lookhu (2016), the mobile content streaming app..

Interview with Nyloc Rex - A Spiritual Hip Hop

Nyloc Rex is a poet, composer, pianist, rapper, writer, world traveler, producer, and an explorer. Beginning piano at age 4, Nyloc's music ranges from hip hop to piano solo, including an album in Spanish (Mas Soledad,) and even a Tupac cover album (always Nyloc's favorite rapper.) Nyloc also has several rock and pop albums with his brother, Doctor Knox (who passed away unfortunately in typical rock-star fashion.) Currently Nyloc is releasing the albums to form his Magnum Opus, starting with The Tao of Nyloc Rex, and Songs of World Peace.

Check out the interview :

Love Music : Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education etc.?

Nyloc Rex  :

I grew up in the USA and started music when I was 4 years old, playing piano. Then I started writing poetry when I was a kid and freestyling. Finally I got into producing in college. I was always interested in people from other parts of the world. Whenever I met someone from another country, I'd ask them all these questions about it. But I never expected to become a world traveler myself. It all kinda happened by chance, and I started traveling, and now I've been living outside the US for most of the last 10 years. So that influences my music a lot.

Love Music : We been hearing a lot about you and your work from plenty of people and we notice you're starting to gain a lot of attention. How does it feel?

Nyloc Rex  :

It feels pretty good. When you're working on a totally new kind of music that doesn't really fit into any genre, it takes people a while to get it and to find your listeners. It's not like this established thing. But I was making music for the future all along, and I always had the purpose to have a positive influence with it. I know musicians are influential people, because I've looked up to so many musicians myself and they've changed my life. So I decided if I'd have any impact, it should be positive. And even if I touched one person with a song, that would be success. And now I've gotten the chance to share my music with so many people from around the world, and learn from people from around the world, and then that goes back into the music. So it's this beautiful positive feedback loop.

Love Music : At what point did you decide to become a hip hop artist?

Nyloc Rex  :

I first started freestyling with my friends in middle school. We would put on beats and record our freestyles with a tape recorder. We got into hip hop listening to Tupac, Nas, and the Wu-Tang clan. I started writing my own songs and producing in University. Then when I started traveling the world, I got the idea to start a whole new genre of hip hop. Gradually I started cutting out the negatives from hip hop—the violence, misogyny, egoism, materialism, and tried to get a hip hop that was on another plane of experience.

Love Music : What were your feelings when you created your album " Thought You Knew " with your brother?

Nyloc Rex  :

My brother passed away 5 years ago. His name was Christopher Rupe, artist name Doctor Knox. It was a blessing getting to spend that time with my brother making music—he was such a huge talent, and taught me so much about arrangement, putting songs together. That album is one of the most diverse albums ever, also totally unique. It goes from hip hop and RnB to folk, rock, pop, even a classical piece my brother composed for piano, which I played. I was the keyboardist on the album, and he did the guitars. We just had a great dynamic together. I think it was Jelly Roll Morton who said, "You can't just put two great musicians together and expect them to play well." It doesn't work like that. You need people to vibe together, and my bro and I were a great team. You can check out our first album for free at Jamendo. We've had around a million listens there, people really enjoy that.

https://www.jamendo.com/album/43117/thought-you-knew

Love Music : You're a world traveler, so if you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Nyloc Rex  :

Well, so far I've got to visit 44 countries, and played in most of them. I remember once I introduced hip hop beatboxing to this town in Paraguay. The kids there loved it, and we started freestyling. There are still so many more countries to see, and the more you travel, you realize how little of the world you really know. I loved playing in every country I've been, and hope to keep playing in new countries in the future. Last year I did a tour in Mexico for 3 weeks with a Colombian band I'm in, and I now live in Colombia, so I've been doing a lot of concerts there. The other thing is, with the internet, I have people who listen to my music from around the world, so you never know who you could reach.

Love Music : You did a cover album of favorite Tupac songs. Please tell us the details.

Nyloc Rex  :

I really admire and respect Tupac as an artist. He's always been one of my favorite rappers. I love his poetry, his raps, his cadence, the beats. So it was really a fun project and I learned so much singing his songs. I also put a few of my own Tupac inspired songs on the album. I put a song on it that goes, "You know that I'm an African/ Even though I have white skin/My people left a bit earlier/ That was way back when." From the theory that actually all humanity came out of Africa originally. Now I don't see races so much, and have friends from around the world. But racism and imperialism are big issues that a lot of times privileged people are oblivious to, or don't understand. Tupac can make someone like that more sensitive to the struggle, which isn't just African Americans, but all oppressed people, people in third world countries, etc. The point is we are all one people, so why are people with money and power taking advantage of those without? That's gotta change.

Love Music : Please tell our readers about your new musical projects?

Nyloc Rex  :

Right now I have a new hip hop album that is coming out soon. I'm also doing live performances with a friend of mine who plays ukulele. And we've been working on a lot of videos for my songs and such. We have so many projects at the moment. I'm also doing some pop stuff again, which is fun, since I haven't messed with that in a while, making some songs to be hits. And at my studio we've started making beats for a bunch of artists over in the US. It's cool getting back into beat making as well.

Love Music : What motivates you to do your best work as a Hip hop artist?

Nyloc Rex  :

I have to say experiences I've had traveling, and inspiration I got from other people. Usually a song starts as a seed, an idea, and traveling, you get these ideas that you never would have otherwise. You also realize a lot of things about life and perspective that are so important, like keeping a positive mindset, living in the moment. These things aren't easy, but really rewarding when you can do them. My music takes you on that journey, without you having to go anywhere. Because there are two types of travel, external and internal. Nature is also a huge inspiration. So I give my thanks to the people and nature. As I say in a song, "The best I ever did, I don't even do/ I owe all my strengths and thanks to you."

Love Music : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?

Nyloc Rex  :

Well besides being a rapper, I play piano, write, do a lot of photography, travel the world. I recently also wrote my first book, which was inspired by Jack Handey's deep thoughts. This one is called "Deeperest Deep Thoughts, by Colin Newcomer."  Recently I've been doing a lot of video too, learning about that. I have a motorcycle I ride around Colombia to remote places, having random adventures. I also teach university students about life, music, English, and help them find their motivation and identify the tools they'll need to succeed in whatever goals they set.
