We met when I hired Lana to sing on a few jingles that I was producing. A few years later, I wrote a song that I thought her voice would be perfect for. That was three years ago; 7 single and an EP later. That first song, Get Me a Drink, although recorded just for fun, took off and here we are.
Love Music : We been hearing a lot about you and your music, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?
It’s cool and a little weird at the same time. We have developed a small but loyal fan base. We do get a few weird messages. I am sure Lana gets more than me. It’s a great feeling to post something and get a response that is more than your family. The reviews that we have received is validation that we are musically on the right path. We do these songs with no budget and to get positive feedback from industry folk feels fantastic.
Love Music : Please tell us more about new single 'Tell Me When it's Over' ?
We are very excited to release this song. It’s very upbeat and translates perfectly for our live shows. I wrote this song from the perspective of a lover, but it also has elements of what is going on in the world today. Basically, it is about being in a negative situation that may be keeping you from finding peace when striving for resolve. We had fun recording this track because we did not follow the typical recording process. I recorded the guitars first to a click track. Then Rich (Smith) came in to track the drums. We played around a bit with the performance and then he nailed it. Matt (Sunick) then tracked the bass. His melodic playing gave this track the motion we were looking for. We were fighting with nature to finish tracking this song. Being in upstate NY, we had a series of snow storms that forced us to cancel a few of our vocals sessions. Lana put on her snows shoes and delivered a vocal performance that tied everything together. As I say, we are bridging the elements of Pop and Rock music by highlighting aggressive guitar and beats that really rocks!
Love Music : What motivates you to do your best work?
I think we all just want to put out music that we are proud of. We realize that when we release music, it will be judged against what is having chart success or what is on the radio. We want to be able to compete on that level sonically.
Love Music : Who are your musical inspirations?
You will hear influences from Pat Benatar, Rush, Foo Fighters and the Beatles in our music.
Love Music : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional musician ?
Make sure you have the passion. You will need it as fuel to keep yourself focused on reaching your goals. It is a cutthroat profession and you will need to work hard to achieve success. Follow your heart and get a good lawyer.
Love Music : What are your future plans ? Your vision for the coming years.
Make more music and hope to play bigger live shows. We are having a lot of chart success in Europe. We would love to capitalize on that and play some shows in the U.K.
Love Music : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?
Glastonbury! I see that live concert and it looks like so much fun.
Love Music : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?
I can only speak for myself. When I am not with my family, I like to box and enjoy being outside. Music is always on my mind.
Love Music : Are you active on social media? what’s the best way to follow you ?
