Interview with pop singer Young $ol

Love Music : we’ve seen that you’re starting to gain some traction in the industry, how does it feel?

It feels pretty surreal ; there’s so many people who want to be an artist in the music game and I’m just humbled by the opportunities that I’ve been blessed with.

Love Music : Can you please tell our readers about your tracks ‘Ringtones’ and ‘I Think About You’?

Ringtones is a track that my boy DanAnthony from Birmingham, United Kingdom had wrote a while back. He said he had been sitting on it for a year and couldn’t quite find the “magic” he needed to make it special. So, he sent me the track via email and needed someone to sing the hook that he had wrote. I recorded what he needed and the rest is history. I wrote my verse, engineer mixed my vocals and he mastered the track. From my perspective, Ringtones is about trying to get in contact with the person you love but they don’t pick up your calls anymore. Being all in your feelings because of everything you’ve been through with that person and now it’s just a lost connection. From my featured artist DanAnthony perspective , the song captures the struggles of being into someone who’s not completely into you. Convincing yourself that everything is fine and that your okay with it but deep down your not.

‘I Think About You’ is a song I wrote for a female that I had feelings for. I had met her at work, caught a vibe but she had plans to move. So I spent the remaining time she was here with her everyday until she left. I had written the song when she was gone and these lyrics were a reflection about how much I missed her and how I wished she was still around. Sadly, things didn’t work out between us but I have no regrets on an influence that help me grow artistically.

Love Music : Any upcoming projects ?

Probably a couple more singles to come and then after those singles; I’m working on a EP that I hope will make an impression and show my versatility and skills and overall an enjoyable experience for my fans to listen to.

Love Music : Please tell us more about your singing style ?

I’ve been singing since I was 4 years old so I’ve learned and studied lots of styles growing up. I’d like to think I’m an r&b voice with capability to take on many styles.

Love Music : Who are your inspirations?

My personal life inspirations definitely are my Mom and Dad (God rest their souls ) Before they passed, they were both such bosses and I’m just glad to inherit their genes and be their son.

Music wise, I think for me lately has been Russ. Seeing how we did it on his own, and never stayed negative on his dreams and just did the best he could with what he had was a massive impact in my life and honestly gave me the spark to seriously pursue music.

Love Music : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional Singer?

Work hard as you can and always stay persistent. Take care of your voice, always have a willing hunger to grow. Find new ways to outdo yourself and always remember why you want to do this. Always stay true to you and don’t let negativity or self doubt push you off track. Believe and make it happen.

Love Music : Have you set some goals to achieve ?

I stay persistent on making it in the industry. To grow more and more each time I release content and to grow as an artist and person. My number one goal is to just give everything I do a hundred percent so when I look back I don’t have no regrets or missed opportunities.

Love Music : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?

Los Angeles has always been a dream for me to be and perform . I’ve only been there once for a music opportunity and ever since then, I’ve been aiming to be back there.

Love Music : Please share with us your proudest moments ?

One of my proudest moments was definitely being able to take care of my Mother when she got sick. It was a humbling experience that really opened my eyes to how amazing my mom was and to show you that life is short. I am proud that it was not a question to take care of my Mother but only a duty to make her last days the best me and my brother could. That experience taught me to live life to the fullest and to be a good person to everyone.

Love Music : Are you active on social media?

Yes! My Instagram is @i_am_mayer. I try not to let it be a huge focus in life. There are too many experiences to enjoy in life than to be glued to your cell phone or computer.

Love Music : We been hearing a lot about you & Boundless Growth Records so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?

Its exciting but weird in a way knowingly being an artist that suffers from social anxiety I don’t like too much attention but this allows me to face and conquer my social anxiety as far as boundlessgrowthrecords I'm happy to be apart of having a platform for true artist to remain artist.

Everything I have learned on my own by locking my self away for literally 5 years to just creating.

Love Music : What motivates you to do your best work as a co-founder of Boundless Growth Records ?

Interview with Rick Habana

Love Music : We've been hearing a lot about you & your work, so we notice you're starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?

It's a new experience for me because I have mainly been behind the scenes making music for TV so to jump into the public eye with my music has been fun listening to peoples feedback and thoughts.

Love Music : Can you please tell our readers about your song "Coast"?

My song "Coast" was inspired by my travels in 2018. I wanted to produce a feel good song about enjoying life and having a good time, It was written by Kahlil who is an amazing singer/songwriter. The song has a blend of Funk, R&B, and Smooth Jazz with lots of live instruments from Sax, Guitar and bass.

Love Music : Any upcoming composition ?

Yes, there are a few tracks that I would like to release this year that have been completed. I've had the chance to work with many musicians from around the world on these upcoming songs and really look forward to getting feedback on them.

Love Music : Please tell us more about your production style ?

My production style varies in many different genres. Working on music for TV has really helped me broaden my production because the briefs that come in to me are usually all different from Pop, Dance, Hip Hop to EDM. But when it comes to my personal music that I will be releasing, I am looking to give Smooth Jazz an updated feel to not only capture the current Smooth Jazz listener but also target a younger crowd.

Love Music : Who are your inspirations?

Over the years I have been inspired by many Jazz musicians (to many to name). Boney James I guess would be the more obvious one but I also am inspired by all types of music from Draft Punk, Satin Jackets, Bruno Mars, Tuxedo just to name a few.

Love Music : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional Music Producer?

Learn an instrument or work with live musicians. It will make you a much better producer and your music will stand out. Especially in the world of Music Licensing. Don't just copy and paste loops either, having an original sound is huge, Just my opinion. Oh and quality mixing and mastering is big, even if you need to pay someone to do it for you.

Love Music : Have you set some goals to achieve ?

I would love to land an American Film, I have been lucky to be involved with a couple foreign films and work with a lot of international TV programs, but ya, a goal is to land a film placement in Hollywood, that would be awesome!

Love Music : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?

Were ever the people will have me, I am opened to the world.

Love Music : Please share with us your proudest moments ?

Having my music on TV has always been really cool for me.

Love Music : Are you active on social media?

Yes, I am on Spotify (Rick Habana), Instagram (rickhabana), SoundCloud (Rick Habana Music) and YouTube (Rick Habana).

Is This Song Happy or Sad? introducing Akatori Beatz

Not everybody feels the same emotion hearing the same music. But what about "major" and "minor" scales? We know for fact today that various cultural backgrounds paint differently the way we see and feel music. Akatori Beatz, a SoundCloud artist who grew up both in Japan and in the United States, finds the neutral scale to be the warmest notes of all scales. Neutral scale refers to the ambivalent state between major & minor.

Akatori shares," the ambivalence helps us to tell what our hidden emotion are about." Listen to Akatori's music and tell for yourself.

Interview with Rob Sky

Love Music: You’ve been making music for over 10 years now. How would you say your style has changed since your first single in 2007?

I hear some of the songs from my first album (Right Now) and I cringe. Haha. I think I was afraid to really put myself out there and be vulnerable when I first started. But now, I’ve totally put myself out there with this album, hence the title, What’s Left of Me. I’ve laid myself bare, and this is what’s left.

Love Music: I noticed there aren’t any love songs on the album? Have you had a recent breakup while you were writing these songs?

Haha. I’ve been so focused on my music, there hasn’t been any time to date. But I think love songs are boring. I feel that breakup songs are so much more interesting to write and sing. There so many more facets to breakups than to falling in love. At least that’s been my experience HAHA.

Love Music: What was it like crafting this album?

It was interesting to say the least. Some songs took WEEKS to write (like Outta My Way), and some songs just poured out of me and were done in an hour (What’s Left of Me).

Love Music: I have to say, I LOVE your cover of Betty Who’s “Ignore Me.” What made you decide to cover that?

Ah thank you so much! I loved the lyrics. That’s something everyone could relate to. Especially me at the time I heard the song. I was REALLY into this person, but they didn’t want anything serious. So I cut them off. But they wanted to stay friends. I was like no- you don’t get to do that. Leave me alone. Haha. “Strangers” is another example of why I cover a song. It’s a originally “Close As Strangers” by 5 Seconds of Summer. And the original is more of an uptempo pop rock song with a big rock guitar chorus. But I heard it and I was like “Oh my god these lyrics are heartbreaking. This would sound so tragic and beautiful with just a piano and bare bones production.

Love Music: If you had to pick ONE track off this album to listen to on repeat, which would it be?

It’s definitely Strangers. I love that melody and the piano intro.

Love Music: What’s next for you?

I’m actually headed back into the studio today! There was so many ideas we couldn’t get to for this album. We might do a deluxe edition with more tracks. Or I might pull an Ariana Grande and release another full album in 6 months! Stay tuned and follow me @therobsky to keep up to date!

Thanks so much for chatting with us Rob. Anything you’d like to add for your listeners?

Thank you so much for your support and I hope you love the album as much as I do!
