Interview with Speaker Child

Love Music: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education, music passion etc. ??

I grew up in a small town and I learned a lot about a culture when I first started hanging with my Mexican Neighbors. I learned about food, dance, fiestas and childhood games. Cuarteles, Kanikas, Lotaria, Trompos, Un Elefante and the list goes on. I learned two languages from a young age and later started hanging with the Curb Dogs. When I started skating that’s all life was about. From sunrise to sun set. From building skate boxes to half pipes. As far as education goes, I barley finished high school. I would ditch almost everyday to write rhymes, skate and get into trouble.... My music background goes back to performing since I was in 2nd grade and my first actual gig was in 5th grade. Percussion is my passion and that started with a 5 gallon paint bucket.

Love Music: Can you please tell us more about your debut album, Mind On My Business?

The title says it all and the cover art (shoe-box full of cash) explains how I invested every last dollar into it. I grew up on West Coast Rap and wanted to bring that feeling I had when I first heard this type of music. I brought on O.G features for my debut album like,  Dru Down, Spice 1, CellyCel, Rappin' 4-Tay and Andre Nickatina. The beats are produced by Roc Phizzle, Qreeps, Carlos Lara and LUV. I’m the executive producer on the debut album. This first album took three years to write, record, collaborate and release. Within 3 months of the release I signed a three album deal with 75 Girls Records.

Love Music:Nice, And what do you wanna say about your new album "High on Wheels" ?

I really got the opportunity to collaborate side by side with producer Roc Phizzle. The new album "High On Wheels" will take you on a journey of skateboarding, partying, hardships relationships and more. I have CellyCel and MoiaBri featured on both my albums. I would say my favorite track is "Treat Yo Self" ft. Roc Phizzle on the hook. The first track kicks off with "Walk N Talk" ft Wanz on the hook. I had some friends/fans leave me voicemails talking smack on me and Roc Phizzle sampled for the intro and ending. You have to check it out! The new album was produced by Roc Phizzle, 75 Girls Records and yours truly. This was my first release under the label with distribution with Empire. Andre Nickatina named this album. We talked on the phone in Seattle and he gave me the idea.

Love Music: Okay, what motivates you to do your best work as executive producer ?

What motivates me is the content and it usually involves food one way the other. Also, I sample what I see, hear and feel. Making people dance is a big motivation and that's usually easy when its "Roc Phizzle on the track MAYNE!" He makes those snapper slappers.

Love Music: Great, What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far?

I've been achieving my goals from in the studio to the stage. The biggest achievement that just recently happened was on December 28th 2019.  I headlined a Casino in Lake Tahoe and my name finally was on a Marquee. Shout out to Lake Tahoe Biltmore Lodge And Casino.

Love Music: Did you choose this industry, as a career, or as a hobby?

I just really enjoy what I do.

Love Music: Your favorite music Artist?

I usually would say someone I listened to growing up or worked with in the studio. But, recently I had the opportunity to check out an artist by the name of Dizzy Wright and he's really good at what he does. Not only with flow, also with his message. I saw him on tour with Ritz and when Dizzy was in his set he had everyone dancing and rapping along. Also, he gave a short speech inspiring young people to start their own business and keep good thoughts and high spirits.

Love Music: What’s your goal in life you want to achieve next as an artist?

My goal is to complete the three album deal with 75 Girls Records and headline my first West coast and East coast tour. Get on a festival abroad in Europe, South America Central America and Mexico.

Love Music: Awesome, Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?

On my free time I like to spend with fam and friends. I enjoy different activities Archery, Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Snowmobiling and Chillin like Matt Dillion. Can't leave out my pup Gotham. "He's a good buddy," half German Shepard and Rottweiler and just turned 9 months old. Traveling is always a good time, but i'm usually on tour or doing radio interviews.

Love Music: How can people find you and follow you online?

Meet me on the Facebook SHORTY haha there's actually a song out there like that. For real though Instagram or Facebook. "Speaker don't tweet."  Website coming soon with all my clothing!
