KVYO (kay-oh) Singer songwriter from Salford, Manchester

In 1998 KVYO found her voice, she joined a performing arts school that year and took part in show after show, traveling around the country with her mum by her side. She did this for another 9 years, learning about the arts and everything there was to it. Finding her strengths, facing her fears and building a solid foundation of unconditional love for music. Her first studio experience was a prize she had won in a competition, having never been in one before, at the age of 11, she recorded her first song. Although this was the making of her as a performer, her very earliest memories of singing are with her family, no fancy costumes, lights or cameras, just a little house full of her favourite people singing at the tops of their voices just for fun. And these moments are the foundation of the artist she is today. 

KVYO continued to dedicate herself to her art throughout her teens, performing in plays, as part of girl group, and then finally, writing. She became dedicated to writing down her thoughts, feelings even letters to the universe and turning them into music. The first time these were recorded was after meeting Nick Hussey in 2016, and after years of writing down stories she was finally given the chance to share them.

With a pen and paper never too far away from her, KVYO is a firm believer in expressing your feelings, writing down you’re thoughts, communicating with the people you love and being honest with yourself. You can hear these messages throughout her music, not only speaking about love and lessons but the understanding of who you are and aspire to be. Her real and relatable stories come from all kinds of places and feelings with a constant sense of the kindness and positive energy she believes in. 

Growing up in the 90’s and 00’s listening to artists such as Mary J Blige, Brandy and Ashanti formed KVYO’s love for RnB. As well as the vocal stylings of musical legends like Janet Jackson and Sade.
